If I was shown to be incompetent, I would be fired. And I can forget about severance pay. I’d be lucky if I got any left over vacation days. Probably the same for you, right?
Not incompetent government bureaucrats. Nope. Rudy Crew has it written into his employment contract that he cannot be terminated for incompetence.
Damn! I wonder if I can get my employer to slip that into my contract????
Come to think of it, my employer, despite my humorous posts in the past, is not that stupid to put that in writing! But Miami-Dade county did. I wonder what was going through their pea brain heads when they approved that?
“Hmmm..let’s see, Mr Crews has been accused of incompetence in New York, so what are the chances he would screw up here? Naw….let’s approve that contract!!!”
My point here is not that Rudy Crew is or is not incompetent. I can’t say anything about that. I don’t know for sure. I know the NY School system wasn’t happy with him, and I know Miami-Dade Schools are going downhill, and that’s bad, since they were already at the bottom of the hill!
My point is government bureaucrats are ass weasels. They will fire an employee in a heartbeat, as Florida is an “at will” state. But them? Hell no, don’t touch them! They are special. Like a three-legged dog, as my daughter says. They get contracts that prevent them from being fired for incompetence!
Mark my words, the high paid school administrator is going to walk away from his job with at least a half million of taxpayer money for severance. Maybe a hell of a lot more.
This is another reminder that government bureaucrats are incompetent and costly. The least government is the best.
I wish someone in the county would get a full copy of Crew’s employment contract and post it on Wikileaks……

Right on! Well said. One clear way to identify a true bureaucrat is to see how fast they run from accountability. They follow the old rule, “If you make a mistake — blame someone!” The individual with an entrepreneurial philosophy would demand a contract that says he could be fired ONLY if he is incompetent. bobmaconbusiness.com

It ought to be Rudy SCREW…………..and what happened to the other Stupski-ite, Carolyn Spaght? The woman he brought with him from the Stupski Foundation? She was a former investment banker, oh yeah, I couldn’t make this up, a do-gooder foundation hires her, and she ends up as Chief of Staff in Miami. And some fools ask, what’s wrong with education……………….? This kind of crap. Rudy baby did more damge to more systems in the name of good (Stupski Foundation)plus demoralizing NYC and Miami. Someone ought to write abook about this overblown, self-indulgent buffoon………..who, by the way, was great friends with fortmer Pinellis Supt, Clayton Wilcox, who crossed over to the dark side, selling books for Scholastic!! With these guys it’s about their careers, not children

When Rudy was in Tacoma WA he made everyone take a course that was given by Efficacy, a private company he had interest in. The district paid over $1 million to have this worthless program presented to us.
I wonder which district will be foolish to hire this man next?
